The Last Six Months: An Update

This is a very long overdue update. The main reason for this is that I have moved! I am now living in Turin, Italy.

Now that I finally have internet access, my desk has come out of storage, and I've finished all the paperwork required to become an Italian resident, I came online to write an update and realised just how much time had passed since my last blog post. So here are some of the other things that have been happening recently:

• We finished the editing, copy-editing and proofreading processes for The House at the Edge of Night. The book will be published on the 19th May 2016 in the UK by Hutchinson, and on the 12th July 2016 in the US by Penguin Random House. The proofs are on their way over to Italy as I write this, and I can't wait to share pictures with you because the cover designs really are beautiful.
• My publishers have been working hard to get The Heart at War distributed in the US and the UK, as well as in Canada where it was originally published. Good news: they have worked their magic, and it should now be available from online retailers without the long delivery times and high shipping costs that some readers were encountering previously. If you have any other problems, do contact me. It was because of observant readers that we noticed the issues in the first place, so it really helps.
• I've also started work on my next book. I'm immersed in the research at the moment - like The House at the Edge of Night, this book covers a long span of history and takes place in Italian settings, so living here makes the research process much easier.
• And this year's most important event: I got married! Another reason for my long absence from the internet. It's been a busy year.
